Dr. Yan Xiaohong

Dr. Yan Xiaohong is the President of Jiangsu University. Prof. Yan received his doctorate degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1997, and once was a visiting scholar working in the CPT of French National Research Center (CNRS) . 

In 2002, he served as the Director of the Scientific Research Office of Xiangtan University. In 2004, he was appointed as the distinguished professor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dean of the School of Science, Executive Vice Dean of the Graduate School and the Director of the Human Resource Office.  In October 2010, Prof. Yan became the Vice President of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Prof. Yan hosted many key projects of the NSFC, key projects of the National "863" Program. He was awarded the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award by the Ministry of Education, and obtained 7 Chinese Invention Patent Authorizations. He is a member of “New Century Excellent Talent Support Program” and “Special Allowances Experts Awarded by the State Council” etc.

Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit

Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit is the current president of Siam University, First Vice President and Chair of Higher Education for Sustainable Development cluster of the International Association of Universities (IAU). He is also the President Emeritus of International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and President of the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions of Thailand (APHEIT) under the patronage of Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Pornchai is also the Former President of the Thailand Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa. 

He has been recognized as the Notable and Prominent Alumnus in Education of the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he earned his Postgraduate degree in Finance, Investment and Banking. He received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kasetsart University in Bangkok, Thailand. He studied and received the Degree of National Defense College of Thailand. In addition, he participated in the Institute for Educational Management at the Graduate School of Education of Harvard University. Currently, he also serves as a Board member of World Association of Cooperative Education (WACE). 

Being recognized as an expert on higher education strategy with emphasis on promoting sustainable relationship between University and Industry, Pornchai received the Medal of Honor from the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and also from Kyung Hee University, South Korea. Pornchai has also received Honorary Professorship from Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico and Guizhou University, China; Pornchai has been honored the Ph.D. Honoris Causa from Angeles University Foundation, Philippines, University of Cordilleras, Philippines’s Women University, and Asia e-University in Malaysia. He also has received the distinguished alumni award from Saint Gabriel College and Kasetsart University.

Mr. Yao Faming

Mr. Yao Faming joined Southwest Jiaotong University in February, 2018 as vice president. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Normal University (1992), and a master’s degree from Northeast Normal University (2005). He spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Sheffield, UK in 2000.

Mr. Yao has primary responsibility over leadership of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges (the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), and the School of International Education. He also provides oversight of the Faculty of Geosciences and Environmental Engineering, School of Architecture and Design, and Tianyou Railway Institute.

Prior to assuming his current position at SWJTU, Yao had a long career in the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (1987-2018), where he held several senior positions including directors of Changjiang Scholar Award Office and Division of Personnel Education of MOE’s Department of Personnel.

Whilst working in the Ministry of Education, he worked as First Secretary at the Education Section of Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco.

Dr. Zeng Zheng

Dr. Zeng Zheng, Professor of Mathematics, President of Foshan University, Chair of University Council as well as the Board of University Trustee. Dr. ZENG also shoulders plenty of social duties, such as President of National Mathematics Education Research Committee, Executive Director of Guangdong Higher Education Party Building Theory Research Committee and Director of Foshan Teacher Development & Promotion Association, etc. He has been successively taking leading roles in three universities over the past 36 years of his teaching career. He presides over more than 10 major research projects, which includes World Bank funding program for enhancing learning and teaching and, national, provincial, ministerial as well.

Professor Deng Gang

Prof. Deng graduated from Kunming University of Science and Technology (KUST) with a B.Sc. degree in surveying and mapping engineering. He went to study at the Dept. of Surveying Engineering of the University of New Brunswick in Canada in 1989 and received M.Sc. Degree.  

He was the Director of International Co-operation and Dean of International College of KUST.

Dr. Eden Y Woon

Dr Eden Woon has been President of Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) since September 1, 2018. AIT is an international institution for graduate education in Bangkok, founded in 1959, promoting technological change and sustainable development in Asia. He also serves as Special Advisor to the Shaw Foundation in Hong Kong. The Shaw Foundation has funded education projects for over 30 years and sponsors the prestigious Shaw Prize in Mathematical Sciences, Life Science and Medicine, and Astronomy. He was most recently the Vice Chairman of Alba Group Asia. The Berlin-headquartered Alba Group is a world-leading environmental engineering company.

From 2010 until 2017, Dr Woon was the Vice-President for Institutional Advancement of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), being responsible for international relations, China affairs, development, alumni, and public relations. HKUST has perennially been ranked as one of the top five universities of Asia.

From 2006 to 2010, Dr Woon was the Managing Director of Li & Fung Group's China Office and Managing Director of Toys ”R” Us China in Shanghai, and he has also been a Vice-President of Starbucks Coffee Company in China. In 1997-2006, Dr Woon was the CEO of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, the largest and oldest business organization in Hong Kong. He was the advisor for several committees for the Hong Kong government and also was advisor to many provinces and cities of China..

Dr Woon served in the US Air Force until 1993 when he retired as a Colonel. He once served as China policy advisor to the US Secretary of Defense. Before that, Dr. Woon taught Mathematics at the US Air Force Academy for six years, becoming an Associate Professor.

Dr Woon received his BA degree from the University of Iowa and his MA, MS, and PhD degrees, all in Mathematics, from the University of Washington in Seattle. He is a Justice of Peace of Hong Kong and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.

Dr. Sanor Klinngam

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Administration Program in Public and Private Management, Ramkhamhaeng University, Thailand.

Mr. E Xuewen went to study Arabic language and literature at Kuwait University in 1977. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Canada in 1985 with a M. Ed. Degree in Educational Administration. Mr. E worked for the Department of International Cooperation of the Chinese Ministry of Education for over 20 years. He was the Deputy Division Head of Foreign Student Affairs, Division Head of International Organizations responsible for supervising and managing Chinese government scholarship programs as well as UN funded education projects implemented in China. He also served at the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles, USA as the Director of Education Section from 1999 to 2002. 

He joined Beijing Overseas-Study Service Association in August 2011 as Vice President. In 2014, he joined the National Overseas Study Association of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) which was created by MOE and served as Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General. He is now Senior Advisor of the East & West International Education.
