Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU)

The Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit, non-legal-entity network association established under the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (2019) for the purpose of enhancing China-Thailand University cooperation and exchange. It is an open international education cooperation platform jointly initiated by 14 universities and educational institutions of both China and Thailand during China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week （CAECW）in July 2019. Under the support of CAECW Secretariat and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), it was officially established at the Forum on China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation on October 20, 2020 in Kunming, Yunnan, China. Representatives of nearly 200 universities in China and Thailand participated in the Forum and the founding conference of the Alliance through a combination of online and offline manner. The assembly elected Prof. Yan Xiaohong, President of Jiangsu University, and Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University as Co-Chairs of ACTU, and 6 Vice-Chairs and 28 Board Member institutions.

The Alliance is committed to:

lPromoting the spirit of peaceful friendship, openness & containment, learning from each other, and exchange and cooperation within the framework of the “Belt and Road” Initiative and Thailand's national development strategy;

lEstablishing a platform for China-Thailand higher education institutions, and encouraging institutional exchange and cooperation in teaching and research, cultural exchange, policy study, and education services

lServing the training and development of high-quality human resources with multi-lingual, and cross-discipline abilities and an international vision and competence.

lEnhancing the understanding and friendship between the peoples of China and Thailand, and contributing to the prosperous development of both countries;

lPromoting the expansion and deepening of higher education exchanges between China and ASEAN countries through China-Thailand cooperation.
