The Forum & Program Promotion for Educational Collaboration under “The Belt & Road” and “Thailand 4.0”– was held in Guiyang, China at which Siam University of Thailand signed cooperation agreements with Liupanshui Normal University and Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University; Khon Kaen Industrial and Community Education College with Shandong Jiaotong University; North-Chiang Mai University with Shandong Agriculture and Engineering University respectively...

In his opening remarks at the Forum & Program Promotion for Educational Collaboration under “The Belt & Road” and “Thailand 4.0”, Mr. Zhao Lingshan, Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of China Education Association for International Exchange, said that in the relationship between China and Thailand, Sino-Thai higher education cooperation plays a pillar role and has an irreplaceable position in the joint training and cultivating talents. He believed that the "Thailand 4.0" strategy is highly compatible with and complements China's "Belt and Road" initiative. The "Belt and Road" is more embodied in specific actions in national planning and project cooperation between China and Thailand of which the cooperation in higher education is one of the biggest highlights.

At the Forum & Program Promotion for Educational Collaboration under “The Belt & Road” and “Thailand 4.0”, Mr. Wang Wei, President of East & West Institute for International Education (EWIE), said in his speech: "The educational and cultural exchanges between China and Thailand have a long history and are becoming more and more frequent. As important partners along the 'Belt and Road', China and Thailand have become a model of 'Belt and Road' educational cooperation in recent years." We strongly feel the enthusiasm and anticipation of institutions of higher learning in China and Thailand which makes EWIE, as an educational service institution, more confident and committed to the promotion of Sino-Thai educational exchanges and cooperation.”



October 20, 2020

The Forum on Higher Education Development in China and Thailand & ACTU Founding Conference was held in Kunming, China, at which the “Alliance of China-Thailand Universities” (ACTU) was officially established and the first Board of Directors was elected. Representatives of nearly 170 universities in China and Thailand attended the event through a combination of online and onsite manner.



February 23, 2021

The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between Hubei University of Economics and North-Chiang Mai University in Thailand was successfully held by video conference, marking the official launch of the JADE project developed by East & West Institute for International Education (EWIE) between the two universities. Ms. Chutima Chavasint, Vice President of North-Chiang Mai University, Fu Hong, Vice President of Hubei University of Economics, E Xuewen, Secretary-General of ACTU, who was specially invited to witness the signing ceremony, and representatives of EWIE attended the signing ceremony.



May 17, 2021

E Xuewen, Secretary-General of ACTU went to visit Jiangsu University and reported to Prof. and President Yan Xiaohong, who is the Chinese Co-Chair of ACTU about works of ACTU Secretariat. Officials of the International Office and Overseas Education College attended the meeting.



June 8, 2021

Hubei Engineering University and North-Chiang Mai University in Thailand held an online signing ceremony for the memorandum of understanding on university-level cooperation and exchange. Mr. E Xuewen, Secretary-General of ACTU and his colleagues of EWIE were invited to witness the signing ceremony.



July 2021

Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of Siam University and Thai Co-Chair of ACTU, sent a letter of sympathy to the flood affected students in Henan Province in China.



September 24-25, 2021

The 3rd Forum on China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation 

& 2021 ACTU Assembly was held through onsite and online manner in Guiyang, Guizhou, China. More than 360 representatives from more than 140 universities in China and Thailand attended the conference, and participated in parallel activities such as "Sino-Thai University President Forum", "Sino-Thai Agriculture and Food Sustainable Development Forum", "China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation Roundtable", and "Young Students Sub-Forum and 'Zhixing Guizhou' Silk Road Youth Exchange and Cultural Experience Tour".



September 24, 2021

Mr. Liu Limin, former Vice Minister of Education and President of China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), attended the opening ceremony of the forum and said in his speech that the educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand not only have a solid foundation, but also have broad prospects and future; the two sides should work together to create a model of higher education exchanges and cooperation in the new era, strengthen cooperation in language education, vocational education and focus on promoting high-quality exchanges and cooperation among “Belt and Road” countries to build a community with a shared future for mankind. In his pre-filmed opening speech, Dr. Anek Laothamatas, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation of Thailand, thanked the Chinese government for its help in Thailand's fight against COVID-19, and said that the friendship between China and Thailand has a long history, and the comprehensive strategic cooperation carried out in multiple dimensions continues to develop. He believes that the application of digital technology in teaching is not only the need to cope with the epidemic but also the need to adapt to the development of the times; he encourages students to learn more about Asia to adapt to the trend of "Orientalization" on a world scale.

At The 3rd Forum on China-Thailand Higher Education Cooperation & 2021 ACTU Assembly, Jiangsu University and Chiang Mai University signed agreements on the joint construction of laboratories; Beijing Language and Culture University and Siam University signed agreements on strategic cooperation for joint construction of International Chinese College; Guizhou University and Mae Fah Luang University, Guizhou Institute of Technology and North-Chiang Mai University signed MOU on cooperation.



December 15, 2021

Guizhou University, Ocean University of China, Minzu University of China, Mae Fah Luang University, National Institute of Development Administration and Dhurakij Pundit University of Thailand were added as ACTU Board Members.
