Minzu University of China visits ACTU SecretariatRelease Time:2021-11-16 From:ACTU
On the afternoon of November 10, the Office for International Cooperation of Minzu University of China (MUC) paid a visit to ACTU Secretariat in Beijing and held discussions on strengthening exchanges between the two sides to jointly promote Sino-Thai cooperation in higher education. The meeting was attended by Prof. Hu Huazheng, Director of MUC International Cooperation Office together with his colleagues Mr. Jia Kun and Mr. Lan Huiwen; ACTU Secretary-General E Xuewen, Jin Xiaojun, Vice President of the East & West Institute for International Education, Feng Jishang, Director for Project Development and Zhang Lei, Director for Project Cooperation.
Mr. E Xuewen welcomed the visitors from MUC and briefed them about the establishment, development and future plans of ACTU. He said that since its establishment, the alliance has received strong support from the Chinese and Thai governments, universities and people from all walks of life, and the number of member universities has increased rapidly to more than 80. In the future, the Alliance will further improve the working mechanism and give play to the role of member universities. ACTU plans to set up a number of professional committees formed by member institutions with similar academic features and development goals. The purpose is to build a networking and exchange platform to encourage and support activities of mutual recognition of academic programs and credits, student exchange, teacher and staff exchange, short-term projects, academic qualification improvement, academic research and innovation, etc. Mr. E Xuewen welcomed MUC to join the Alliance, and said that it is also the mission of ACTU to give full play to universities like MUC to help promote people to people exchanges with ASEAN countries.
Director Hu Huazheng introduced the international exchanges and cooperation of MUC in recent years, and said that the university attaches great importance to international cooperation, especially with the "Belt and Road" countries. MUC cooperates with universities in Ireland and many other countries in terms of studying in China, dispatching Chinese teachers, short-term exchanges, and joint scientific research platform construction. MUC has developed a number of English-taught programs for international students in ethnology, anthropology, religious studies, history, journalism, international Chinese language education and other disciplines. These majors can be jointly trained with Thai universities to offer master's degrees. MUC hopes to deepen cooperation with Thai institutions by joining ACTU.
During the meeting, the East & West Institute for International Education introduced their international education projects carried out with domestic and foreign universities in recent years.
