The Silk Road Youth Exchange Program Launched in Guizhou

The 2021 “Zhi & Xing GuizhouSilk Road Youth Exchange Program  A Cultural Experience Tour in Colorful Guizhou was officially launched on the campus of Guizhou University on September 23, 2021. This event was sponsored by Guizhou Provincial Department of Education and hosted by the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week (CAECW) and Guizhou University, and co-organized by Jiangsu University and the Alliance of China-Thailand Universities (ACTU). The 8-day program arranged by Guizhou University is to provide participants with an opportunity to perceive and experience Chinese culture in general and distinctive Guizhou regional culture in particular through lectures, workshops, field trips, cultural tours, fun games, talent shows and participation in the 2021 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week events.

18 international students from 10 countries who are currently studying in China at Tsinghua University, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Jiangsu University, Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Science College and Yangzhou Polytechnic College attended the opening ceremonyIn her speech as a student representative, Ms. Yolandani (Wang Lianhua), an Indonesian student from Jiangsu University, spoke in fluent Chinese and suggested that all students should cherish this valuable opportunity, actively participate in various project activities, feel and experience the most authentic and colorful charm of Guizhou culture.

Officials representing Guizhou Provincial Department of Education, Guizhou University, Organizing Committee of CAECW, ACTU and Jiangsu University attended and addressed at the opening ceremony. Mrs. Wang Hui, member of the Party Group of Guizhou Education Department, welcomed all students and teachers on behalf of the Guizhou Provincial Government and encouraged them to experience Chinese culture and colorful Guizhou through activities arranged by the organizer. Mr. E Xuewen, ACTU Secretary-General, hoped that this program would allow students to experience the unique cultural and geographical features of Guizhou, and to learn more about the ethnic culture of Chinese minority nationalities
